Hoop Mountain Named One of the Best Basketball Camps in the Midwest
In an article featured on Helium.com, Hoop Mountain has been named one of the best basketball camps in the Midwest. Hoop Mountain is only one out of three camps to receive the honor out of hundreds of basketball camps in the region. The main reasons for receiving the honors included the fact of being one of the top exposure camps in the country and having high level coaching staff.
The article keys in on some of the superior aspects of Hoop Mountain including its high level of exposure for high school basketball players stating “some of their exceptional traits include an emphasis on scout exposure.”
The article also mentions the high level of coaches offered at the Hoop Mountain camps, as Hoop Mountain Midwest is known for having some of the best high school and college coaches in the region on the camps coaching staff. The coaching staff includes Gordie Kerkman, who recently was the winning head coach in this year’s prestigious McDonalds All-American game featured on ESPN. Hoop Mountain Midwest has always focused on offering its campers the best coaching available.
“Since they have remained successful since 1985, they immediately stand as an effective, legitimate, program with scout accountability.”

Coach Kerkman has won over 700 games during the 36 years he has coached the West Aurora Blackhawks. He has been elected to the prestigious IBCA Hall of Fame.
Special Note: Coach Kerkman has been selected to be Head Coach of McDonald's All-American West Team in their national championship game against the All-American East Team. The game will be held March 28, 2012, at the United Center in Chicago.
HERE'S WHAT'S NEW AT OUR 2012 HOOP MOUNTAIN MIDWEST SUMMER CAMP!
I have been a high school basketball coach for over 50 years. During this time I have never seen a basketball camp that equals Hoop Mountain Midwest. As an instructional camp, I feel it's the best there is. Great facilities and terrific coaches make a huge difference.
What you do during the summer often determines how well you play during the basketball season. Playing on a travel team, for example, can give you good exposure (if you are a starter). But many teams don't have adequate time to devote to fundamental instructions. That can be a real killer if you're trying to move to a higher level. Can you afford the risk?
That's why we schedule Hoop Mountain Midwest camps in July. It gives you your last real chance to polish your game before school starts in the fall......your last chance to learn the fundamentals that middle school, high school, and college coaches demand.
There is still space in the "#1 Instructional Camp in the Midwest." So, don't be disappointed by being left out. Mail in your registration form now. We look forward to seeing you this summer.
Cordially,
Gordon Kerkman
Head Coach, Hoop Mountain Midwest
Head Coach, West Aurora H.S., Aurora, IL
HOOP MOUNTAIN MIDWEST BASKETBALL CAMPS ARE SCHEDULED AT THREE LOCATIONS THIS SUMMER
